About

I’m New Here

The Gospel is ultimate about humanity being restored to God’s community. Only through practicing community will individuals grow fully in the grace and knowledge to be found in Jesus.

Furthermore, it is through community that a fragmented world can best witness the power of the Gospel and the nature of God’s work. As a culture of confession, transformation, friendship, forgiveness, justice, power, and love springs up in the lives of normal people, those who don’t know Jesus will be compelled to ask: “What’s happening?” We are Trinity Presbyterian and we welcome you.

As Presbyterians, there is no list of things that you must subscribe to in order to be a member. The only affirmation required is trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This means that we are a branch of the Christian family tree that emerged from the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century. Presbyterians grew out of the leadership of John Knox who traveled from Scotland to Geneva Switzerland to study under John Calvin.

About

Who is Trinity Presbyterian?

We’re a Presbyterian church in the city of Decatur Georgia, striving to live out the Biblical command to love God, each other and our neighbors well. This means worshipping and following Jesus not only through our words, but more importantly through the lives we lead. We represent the church as a whole to a world in need of direction. One has only to listen to the older members of Trinity, who were around at the earliest beginning of the church, to realize the rich heritage it has. As it reads in the book of Jeremiah 6:16, we “stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Core Values

While our vision statement represents who we desire to become, our core values represent who we are. We experience Jesus through Gospel-based preaching, teaching, and worship. We seek ways to share Christ's love near and far. We leverage our legacy to be a beacon for Christ and invest tirelessly in our children and youth as the future of our church.

Our mission is to create a church climate which will nurture spiritual growth through worship, Christian education, service to others, open expression of love and caring, and a fellowship of believers.

Statement of Faith

We worship the only true God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who is both one essence and three persons. God is infinite, eternal, immutable, impassible, and ineffable. He cannot be divided against Himself, nor is He becoming more than He has been, since there is no potential or becoming in Him. He is the source of all goodness, all truth and all beauty, of all love and all life, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent.
